Top-seeded Roswell dominated the game from start to finish. Justin Carraso led
the winners with 120 yards rushing, including an 18-yard TD, while Dominica Nava
had three interceptions, returning one 39 yards for a TD, and Jasias Reece added a
90-yard punt return for a score.

D’Andre Williams rushed 37 times for 357 yards and
two TDs, runs of 8 and 71 yards, to lead La Cueva to
its first state title since 2009. The No. 2 seeded Bears
held a 14-0 lead after the first quarter and stretched
it to 24-7 by halftime, piling up 561 total yards before
the day was done, 415 of it on the ground.
Top seed Cleveland came into the game with the
top scoring offense in 6A but it’s biggest highlight
turned out to be a 45-yard interception return by
Trey Ortega.

No. 3 seed Taos capped off a powerful season and ended Bloomfield’s Cinderella
postseason run in this defensive struggle. Bloomfield came into the game fresh from
knocking off No. 1 seed St. Pius X in the semifinals but could muster only 96 total
yards in this game.
For Taos, Jonathan Garcia returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown
and Noah Armijo scored by covering a blocked punt in the end zone. Taos clinched
the championship with a goal-line stand that was capped by a sack with 1:25 to go
in regulation.
