Dexter’s defense forced five turnovers and allowed only 119 total yards in this
dominating championship win. Jarren Amaro scored on a pair of 1-yard runs and
also connected with Isaac Irigoyon for a scoring pass to highlight the Dexter offensive
effort. Amaro’s second touchdown run came after Robertson had botched a kickoff
return.
2A Eunice 35 (12-0), Santa Rosa 6 (11-2)
Eunice won its second straight state title in its fourth consecutive state finals
appearance.

Talk about turning the tables...Gateway had beaten Tatum twice in the regular
season - by a combined 60 points, but lost in the state final. Tatum appeared in the
championship game for the first time since 2009.
